The best way to experience nature and relax is to go hiking. Whether it's an easy leisurely walk, a panoramic trail halfway up the mountain or a demanding summit tour - Westendorf caters for all levels of difficulty. You can start several tours directly from our guesthouse. At the Sonnenhof, we ourselves are enthusiastic Alpine hikers: Martina is a certified hiking guide and we can give you lots of tips!

Our local mountain cable cars provide very convenient ways of getting up the mountains: a 'SkiWelt Hiking Pass' lets you use 12 mountain cable cars in the Wilder Kaiser-Brixental area; the 'Kitzbüheler Alpen Sommercard' an amazing 29 cable cars in the Kitzbühl Alps!

On our region's grassy mountains you will find 6 unique theme park experiences appealing to both children and adults: Hexenwasser Söll, Ellmi´s Zauberwelt, KaiserWelt Scheffau, Filzalmsee, Hohe Salve and Alpinolino - a collection of magical worlds, playgrounds, nature trails and pure adventure, surrounded by glistening lakes and Alpine huts! All of them can be easily reached by cable cars from May to October and are free of charge. The majority are also accessible to people with pushchairs and wheelchair users.

Cycling & Mountain Biking

Welcome to one of the best mountain biking regions in the world! The Kitzbühel Alps area is a great place for mountain bikers, racing cyclists and cycle tourists, and the largest region for e-bikes in Austria. Look forward to over 800km of cycling routes, trails and parks. Mountain biking is of great importance to us at the Sonnenhof: your own bike will also have a roof over the handlebars here, with a supply of oil, cleaning materials and tools. We can also help with recommendations, including less well-known routes.

9 top golf courses with varying terrain within a radius of 50km leave lovers of this sport with nothing to be desired. And with the "Kitzbühel Alps Westendorf" 18-hole championship course, one of the best is on the doorstep. Although it is 1.5km away, you have a great view of the entire golf course from our terrace. As a Sonnenhof resident you receive a 20% discount on green fees!

Bathing Fun in Westendorf

Summer would not be complete without a refreshing swim. A dip in one of the local mountain lakes is an unforgettable experience. The 'Hintersteiner See', 'Walchsee' and 'Reintaler See' are all lakes in the local area, surrounded by fantastic scenery. The heated open-air pool in Westendorf, with its wonderful sunbathing lawn, water slide, children's pool, sandpit and play area, is particularly suitable for families. Bathing lakes in the adjoining districts also offer plenty of fun for the whole family and can be reached in a few minutes by car. A special experience is the indoor leisure pool in Wörgl with its spectacular water slides.

The Sonnenhof is particularly suitable for families. We provide cots, changing mats and, of course, toys for your kids. For older children, we can offer a play tower, trampoline, swing, sandpit, a position away from the road, surrounding meadows and interesting things at our nearby farm. We give your children the freedom to romp around, explore things and relax.
